- Services: faux wood blinds, wood blinds, vertical blinds, aluminum mini blinds
- Service area: Willow Ridge, New Palestine, IN and surrounding areas Two different timelines apply. New custom product takes weeks because it has to be made. Repairs to what's already hanging, a cord lock, a ladder string, a chain that jumped the clutch, are usually far quicker.

Local Window Treatment Experience in Willow Ridge
Willow Ridge houses are new, and new means factory square. After the 163 pre-1940 openings on New Palestine's 1838 plat, that's a relief: a three point measure here confirms what you expect instead of revealing what you feared. The catch is different. Because Silverthorne markets more finish flexibility than the national builders, two Willow Ridge houses on the same street can carry different window packages, so a cut list from your neighbor's house is worth nothing on yours. We measure per house even when the elevations look identical from the curb, and we write the plan name on the sheet.

Confirm the street before anything else. Black Willow Way and White Willow Way are both inside this plat, along with Willow Ridge Lane, and near identical street pairs are how measure appointments land at the wrong house and custom orders get made to the wrong sizes. There's no returning a custom order to stock. Beyond that, expect a house that has never had a window covering fitted: 223 of New Palestine's 1,326 housing units date from 2020 or later, the highest new build share of its peer group at 16.8 percent, and a material share of those have bare glass today.
We have served Willow Ridge homeowners through the full range of window treatment needs, from inspections and repairs to full replacements. Whatever the system, our New Palestine crew approaches every project with clear communication and respect for your property.
Willow Ridge: current Silverthorne construction from the $340,000s
This is a live community as of 2026, not a settled one. Silverthorne Homes builds it, Arbor Homes markets it as the Silverthorne Series, and the sourced opening price is the $340,000s. Compare that with the town's ACS median house value of $357,500 and you get the unusual position: Willow Ridge opens below the median of the town it sits in. The local guide describes the product as custom feeling with more flexibility on finishes than the national builders typically allow, which is the marketing claim and also, for our purposes, a measuring instruction. Flexible finishes mean variable opening schedules.
Three streets are verified in the plat: Willow Ridge Lane, Black Willow Way and White Willow Way. No home count is published, no lot size and no square footage range, and the story mix isn't sourced either. The plan level window count runs 16 to 26 depending on which plan you bought, inferred from the price band and current plan sizes rather than surveyed. What is certain is the construction condition: drywall returns with no applied casing, generally workable depth, and a return corner that's softer than an old wood jamb. That last detail decides where brackets can go.
New glass in Willow Ridge: square openings, soft returns and a door wall
Squareness is the good news and it's worth being precise about why it matters. On a factory square Willow Ridge opening, the standard 1/16 inch per side factory deduction behaves exactly as published, so the finished width lands where the order says it will. On an 1890s East Main opening the same deduction stacks on top of a taper and produces a visible gap. Same product, same math, different outcome. That's what lets us spec confidently here. What still needs care is the return corner: new drywall returns are soft at the edge, so an outside mount has to reach wood framing above the opening rather than relying on the return, and a heavy headrail hung off the corner alone will pull.
The shape vocabulary here is current generation and it isn't the 1990s vocabulary. Expect wide fixed units, stacked rectangular transoms rather than half round arches, a sliding glass door wall to the rear, and black exterior frames. Stacked transoms are the detail that catches people out: covering the lower unit alone leaves the transom lit, and running one shade across both means the stack sits over the top of the glass when it's raised. Ask what you actually want from the transom before ordering. On a new house still moving through its first heating season, when the Indianapolis January average low is 20.9F, we also allow a little settling before committing to a tight side channel.
Black Willow Way or White Willow Way
Two streets in one small plat differing by a single word is exactly how a measure appointment lands at the wrong house. We confirm the full street name at booking and again on the order, because a custom treatment cut to the wrong house is a total loss. If you're comparing quotes, check that every one of them names the same street. It takes a second and it's the most avoidable error in Willow Ridge.
Stacked transoms above the main glass
Current builder product here uses rectangular transoms stacked over wide fixed units rather than the half round arches the 1990s plats east of town carry. You can treat the lower unit only and leave the transom clear, or cover both and accept that the raised stack eats the top of the view. There isn't a third answer, so we walk the room and settle it before the order rather than after.
The soft return corner
Brand new Silverthorne drywall returns have no applied casing and a soft outer corner, so brackets that rely on that corner will eventually pull. An outside mount here reaches wood framing above the opening, which we locate at the measure. It's a five minute check that prevents the most common callback on new construction: a headrail that was solid on install day and loose by the second winter.
A house that has never had coverings
New Palestine has the highest new build share of its peer group, with 223 of 1,326 units built 2020 or later, and a material share have bare glass. That means no existing brackets, no legacy sizes and no compromises inherited from a previous owner. It also means every opening in the house is a decision at once, so we usually stage the quote by room and let you order in the order you'll actually live in the house.
What a new Silverthorne house in Willow Ridge should get
Willow Ridge starts from a better position than anything else in New Palestine: square openings, consistent depth, and no existing hardware to work around. So the specification question isn't how to cope, it's what the house should do. With 16 to 26 openings on a plan opening in the $340,000s, and a sliding door wall plus stacked transoms at the rear, the money goes furthest on the glass that dominates the main living space and on the bedrooms. National ranges for the bracket: motorized runs $300 to $1,500 per window installed, custom shades $250 to $2,600, drapery $300 to $4,000, and interior shutters $175 to $800.
Motorized roller shades
The stacked transoms and the rear door wall are the two places manual control gets old fast, and both are natural motorization candidates in a new Willow Ridge house. Set travel limits at commissioning so the shade stops exactly at the transom line. The disclosure that gets skipped elsewhere: Hunter Douglas states PowerView battery life is about one year, so budget for battery wands or a hardwired run before you buy, not after.
Cellular shades with cordless lift
For bedrooms in a house this new, cellular does the most per dollar. DOE and ORNL testing found cellular shades saved up to 20 percent of heating energy and up to 15 percent of total heating and cooling energy against a bare window, which counts in Climate Zone 5A where January averages a 36.1F high and July an 85.2F one. Cordless lift keeps loose cord out of a house being furnished for a family.
Composite plantation shutters
Composite suits the front rooms and the baths in a Silverthorne plan, because it doesn't move through an Indiana summer the way hardwood does. The Willow Ridge wrinkle is finish flexibility: since window packages vary house to house here, every shutter opening gets templated individually rather than ordered off a plan schedule. That's slower at the quote and it's the reason the frames actually fit.
Custom drapery panels
A Willow Ridge great room with black frames and a door wall reads hard until fabric goes into it, and drapery is the only family that adds softness and acoustic damping at once. Hardware anchors into wood framing above the opening rather than into the new return corner. Plan the return so the panel wraps to the wall and stops the light line at the edge, and stack the panels off the glass so the view isn't narrowed when they're open.
Willow Ridge and the New Palestine catchment
Willow Ridge carries a New Palestine 46163 address inside the Community School Corporation of Southern Hancock County, feeding New Palestine Elementary, Doe Creek Middle and New Palestine High School, which was named a U.S. News Best High School for 2026-27. The local guides treat that catchment as the point of the address, and the corporation covers far more ground than the town's 1,326 housing units, so a Willow Ridge address may sit in unincorporated Sugar Creek Township rather than inside the corporate limits. Three streets carry the plat: Willow Ridge Lane, Black Willow Way and White Willow Way. Confirm which of the two Willow ways is yours when you book.
